
The farmhouse is surrounded by 10,000 square metres of garden, with medicinal plants and shade trees such as eucalyptus, melias, nettle trees, silver birch, various kinds of acacias, cedars, olives, almonds, etc. There is also a wide variety of birds, including swallows, bee-eaters, hoopoes, nightingales, Montagu’s harriers and the long-eared owl, whose night-time call reminds us that it is time to go to sleep. Beside the garden is a brook that runs between evergreen oaks and a fountain and waterfall, at the back, a more out-of-the-way area where visitors can enjoy loungers and sunbathe while listening to the song of the birds. Further on, the source "Rovellada" with a waterfall where the common people still using their water for consumption, and then, in our farm you will see an ice pit where once kept food among fields and roads for walking.
Siurana is a small farming village of some 140 inhabitants. From its highest point there is a view down over the sea — the nearest beaches being in Sant Pere Pescador and Sant Martí d’Empúries — as well as of the Canigó mountain to the northeast. The nearest town is Vilamalla, two kilometres away.
